O destinaci

Cinque Terre (italská výslovnost: [ˈtʃiŋkwe ˈtɛrre]; ligursky: Çinque Tære, což znamená "Pět zemí") je drsný úsek pobřeží na italské riviéře. Nachází se v regionu Ligurie v Itálii, na západ od města La Spezia, a tvoří ho pět vesnic: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola a Riomaggiore. Pobřeží, pět vesnic a okolní svahy jsou všechny součástí Národního parku Cinque Terre a jsou zapsány na seznam světového dědictví UNESCO. Během staletí lidé pečlivě budovali terasy na drsné, strmé krajině až k útesům, které se tyčí nad mořem. Součástí jeho kouzla je absence viditelného korporátního rozvoje. Vesnice spojují stezky, vlaky a lodě a auta k nim nemohou dojet zvenčí. Oblast Cinque Terre je velmi oblíbenou turistickou destinací. Vesnice Cinque Terre byly výrazně postiženy prudkými dešti, které způsobily povodně a sesuvy půdy 25. října 2011. Bylo potvrzeno, že povodně zabilo devět lidí, a škody na vesnicích, zejména na Vernazza a Monterosso al Mare, byly rozsáhlé.
